Resin floors for Poole garages, boat stores and workshops

Poole has some of the best garages we get to work in, from harbourside homes in Sandbanks, Lilliput and Canford Cliffs to family houses in Broadstone, Creekmoor and Hamworthy. Several of the floors in our gallery were installed here, including the blue solid-colour floor with inlaid logos shown below. Whether the space stores a classic car, a boat and its kit or a home workshop, a bonded resin floor keeps it clean, dry and dust-free.

We diamond-grind the concrete, repair it and lay the resin in layers, so it becomes part of the slab rather than a coat of paint on top of it. Choose from flake, solid colour, metallic or self-smoothing finishes, and get a free, no-obligation quote before you commit to anything.

Resin floor finishes for Poole homes

  • Flake: vinyl flakes broadcast to full coverage over a pigmented base coat and sealed with a clear UV-stable topcoat. Textured underfoot and good at hiding sand and grit, which is why it is the most common choice near the harbour.
  • Solid colour: two coats of high-build epoxy in a single colour. The blue floor pictured above is a solid colour system with logos set into the surface before the final coat.
  • Metallic: metallic pigments worked through the epoxy for a marbled, flowing finish, sealed with polyurethane or polyaspartic.
  • Self-smoothing: a 3–4mm poured epoxy that levels itself into a flat, glass-like floor, ideal for workshops and boat stores where the slab is worn or uneven.

All the flake blends and solid colours are on our colour chart, and we bring samples to every Poole quote visit.

Salt, sand and damp: what a coastal floor needs

Garages in Poole deal with more moisture and salt than inland ones. Before we lay any resin we check the slab for damp and, where moisture is coming through, prime it with a moisture vapour barrier epoxy so the floor stays bonded. The finished surface is seamless, so there are no joints for salt water to sit in, and it stands up to road salt, boat washing, oil and fuel without staining.

Installing a resin floor in Poole

  • Preparation: the whole slab is diamond-ground with dust-extracted machines, edges included, then cracks, holes and salt pits are filled and ground flush.
  • Coating: primer where needed, then the base coat with flakes or the metallic layer, then the clear UV-stable topcoat.
  • Curing: walk on it after 24 hours, park on it after 5 days.

A typical single or double garage takes two to three days on site. Larger boat stores, workshops and triple garages are surveyed and quoted individually.
